नशे ने किस तरह पंजाब को जकड़ लिया है। इसका खौफनाक उदाहरण फिरोजपुर में देखने को मिला। घर वालों ने लड़की की शादी बड़ी धूमधाम से की।लड़के ने भी शादी के कई सपने देखे थे लेकिन शादी के पहले दिन ही उसके सपने चूर-चूर हो गए । ससुराल आई दुल्हन ने नशा देने के लिए हंगामा कर दिया। चूड़ा उतार कर फेंके और जोर-जोर से चिल्लाने लगी मेनू चिट्टा चाहिदा। यह देख सांस, ससुर डर गए और तुरंत उसे नशा छुड़ाओ केंद्र में ले गए, वहां इलाज कराने के बाद डॉक्टर की लिख के दे की यह नशा करती है ताकि बेटे की शादी तुडवा सके। हालांकि डॉक्टर के काफी समझाने के बाद वह इलाज कराने को राजी हो गए हैं। बीते दिनों नशा छुड़ाओ केंद्र में एक दंपति नवविवाहित को नशा छुड़वाने की दवा दिलाने पहुंचा। नवविवाहित नशे की लत के कारण नशा ना मिलने के चलते बुरी तरह से तड़प रही थी, केंद्र में पहुंचने पर डॉक्टरों की ओर से युवती का इलाज किया गया जिसके बाद वह कुछ शांत हुई। युवती को लेकर उसके सास-ससुर केंद्र में पुँहचे और बताया कि उनके बेटे की शादी पिछले वीरवार को युवती से शादी हुई है उन्हें नहीं मालूम था लड़की नशे की आदी है। उन्होंने कहा कि शादी ठीक-ठाक हो गई है।उन्होने डॉक्टर को बोला की लिख के दे की यह नशा करती है ताकि बेटे की शादी तुडवा सके।डॉक्टर ने बोला की नशा एक बीमारी है, जिसका इलाज संभव है। इस के बाद परिवार उसके इलाज तैयार हो गए ।
